The story is about "Mr. Magorium Wonder Emporium" , the name of Mr. Magorium's store that sells every kind of magic toys and books. This magic emporium is very old, Mr. Magorium too. He is 243 years old now.
Everyday, he helped by three workers.Molly Mahoney ( Natalie Portman ), she used to be a very talented pianist when she was a kid, is the manager; Bellini (Ted Cudzik) , who live in the basement of the store, is the writer of Mr. Magorium's biography; Eric ( Zach Milis ), a nine-years old boy,who has no friend.
One day, Mahoney decides to quit from the store. She thinks that
she should prove her self that she is still a great pianist. Mr. Magorium ( Mistin Hoffman) doesn't give any answer, but he hires Henry ( Jason Bateman ) , an accountant, to manage the important files of the store.
The terrible comes when Mr. Magorium tells that he is leaving. All the store's wall tuns grey and the toys going crazy,and it might be harmful for the kids. He closes the store soon that day.
Mr. Magorium, Mahoney , Eric,and Henry hold a meeting and Mr. Magorium gives the store to Mahoney.She doesn't want to accept it, but when she realizes that Mr. Magorium will really go, she agrees.
She tries to give all the small things that Mr Magorium never knew before, like dancing on bubble wrap, jumping on furniture-store beds, and making calls from payphone.
The next morning,he dies. Mahoney sells the store. Eric complains and try to make Mahoney aware that the store is really important. Actually, Mahoney is also doubt. She asks an advice from Henry. Henry absolutely forbids her. She still wants to sell it until Henry says that he saw sparkle on her. If you believe it, you will see it, and it comes true.
All the grey toys turn alive and all kids come back to the store.
